Set on Sinsa-dong’s leafy garosu-gil, Kuai 19, invites in those looking for respite from Seoul’s frantic streets. Closer resembling a café in the French quarter of Hanoi, Kuai 19 interior décor may be better executed than its menu. Cantonese cuisine is on offer here. Garlic chicken sings with a duet of zesty garlic and savory soy sauce, aided by the chicken’s satisfyingly crunchy fried exterior. Pork dumplings are slippery, but pop with green onion and minced pork. Service is struggling. Food makes it from the kitchen to the table, but not altogether. The pretty boy servers appear more interested in looking bored than the task at hand.
