Overview:
Dongdamoon market a bargain hunter’s paradise, and after an afternoon of plunder, foot-sore and wonless shoppers will find the Nepali restaurant Everest a tasty spot to fill up on the cheap. North of the market, tucked away off the main street on the second floor of a non-descript building, Everest sits, a jewel in Dongdaemoon’s treasure chest. The interior is bright but homey. Offerings here are described as Nepali, Indian and Tibetan but strongly favor the neighbor to the south. Curries, both veg and non-veg, are the staple of the menu, while briyanies, and assorted small bites including spring rolls and chow mien (offerings inspired by the travelers cafés in the Katmandu?) round out the list. Make it a point to order the Mali Kofta and the Masala chicken.
