My Goodness, My Chinggis!
After a month long dusty and wind chapped trip through Mongolia our friend at the great state returned to Seoul with 5 tallboys of Mongolia’s national brew. Chinggis.
Extra hoppy, with a kick of skunk, Chinggis, no doubt refreshes in the dry Gobi desert.
Given his penchant for things of the skunky nature (it was said that Mongol warriors purposely did not shower as to make themselves more fierce) I think Genghis would approve.

Funny that I was just reading about chinggis in my “Extreme Cuisine” book. So, this is the stuff made from horse milk, right?

No, Chinggis is just beer, the stinky fermented horse milk stuff is Airag, fermented mare’s milk. Mmmmmm.*thank you C.C.

I hate to be a Correcty Carl here, but I believe its “airag,” an even more Vulcan name. Zen Kimchi, you have to drink it fresh, in a yurt, or not at all. No Cans!

As a lover of all beers I can’t completely slam the Chinggis. That said, the stuff is seriously skunky. Kinda like it’s been cooled and warmed up repeatedly. Did enjoy drinking it though…
